How it works
No calling around, no haggling, no cash. Here’s what happens when you book.
Step 1
Open the app and type a hostel, a building or a stage, or drop a pin anywhere on the map. Your pickup is set from your location, and campus pickup points make it easy for your rider to find you.
Varsity Go works around Maseno and on the roads towards Luanda, Kombewa and Kisumu. If a place is outside the area, the app tells you straight away.
Step 2
The app shows the fare, the Varsity Go fee and the total, with the distance and how far away the nearest rider is. Tap the price to see exactly how it adds up.
The quote is locked when you book. Your wallet balance is used first, and anything left is paid by M-Pesa.
Step 3
We offer your trip to the nearest available rider. When they accept, an M-Pesa prompt appears on your phone. Enter your PIN and the rider sets off. Nothing is charged until a rider accepts.
Watch them come to you on the map. When they arrive, show your 4-digit trip PIN. They enter it to start the trip, and you’re on your way.

Cancelling is free until your rider is close to the pickup. After that, a small fee goes to the rider for their time. The app shows the exact amount before you confirm.
Unused money goes back to your Varsity Go wallet instantly. Prefer M-Pesa? Choose it and the refund is sent with the next daily payout run.
