  • Keep 100% of every fare

    The Varsity Go fee is paid by the passenger on top of the fare. Nothing is taken from your earnings.

  • Paid before you set off

    Every trip is paid by M-Pesa when you accept, before you move. No chasing fares, no fake “I’ll pay later”.

  • Daily M-Pesa payouts

    Your earnings go to your own M-Pesa number once a day. Late cancellations pay you a fee for your time.

  • Requests come to you

    Go online and ride requests ring on your phone, closest riders first. No waiting at the stage for a passenger.

  • Know the trip before you accept

    See what you’ll earn, how far the pickup is and the trip distance before you tap Accept.

  • Goals, streaks and ratings

    Set a daily goal, keep your streak going, and build a rating passengers trust.

What you need

Every rider is checked before their first trip. That’s what makes passengers comfortable booking you at night.

  • A Kenyan national ID
  • A valid driving licence that covers motorcycles
  • Your own motorcycle with a readable number plate
  • An Android smartphone with data
  • A Safaricom M-Pesa line registered in your name, for your payouts

How to apply

    Get the Varsity Go Rider app

    Download it on Android and sign in with your phone number. No password needed.

  2. 2

    Add your documents

    Photograph your ID (front and back), your licence and your bike, take a live selfie and enter your number plate. It takes about five minutes.

  3. 3

    Our team checks them

    We compare your selfie with your ID and review each document, usually within a day. If something needs fixing, the app tells you exactly what.

  4. 4

    Set up your payouts and go online

    We call you to register your M-Pesa number for payouts. You read back a 6-digit code to confirm it’s yours. Then you’re approved and can start earning.
